Going on a vacation is all the more wonderful when everything falls into place. There are in fact three things that should be on your vacation list- things to do prior to leaving, stuff to purchase and things you must remember to pack. Allow me to share my list with you!
Just imagine discovering that you are on a vacation and there’s no toothbrush with you. Well, if you are on a particular destination you can always buy one, but what if you are in transit? In order to put all these worries aside, pack your toothbrush along with other essential toiletries in advance. Do not fall a prey to that last minute turmoil.
Appropriate travel documents
These are the things which you should pack well in advance. But don’t get me wrong! I am not telling you to carry your plane or train ticket for 20 to 25 days in your purse, just to make sure that you do not forget it. What I mean is pack your travel documents around a couple of days before or at least the night before.
Making the home safe
One of the vital things is to ensure that all the doors and windows are properly locked. Apart from that, you must also check all the outlets just in case anything is unnecessary plugged in as well as to ensure that no appliance is turned on. All these tricks I learnt from my mom; I have seen her meticulously check each and every minute detail before we went off for a vacation.
Remember your glasses
Well, forgetting makeup can make your life miserable but not as much as forgetting your glasses, especially if you are near-sighted like me. Just think of a situation when you are on a bus, train or place and suddenly you realize that your glasses are not with you! Can’t imagine it, right? So, always make your glasses a priority on your list.
When I travel, my phone is more often than not my best friend. And you already know that smart phones come up with a number of significant tools so that your travel becomes easier and comfortable. So, when you are packing your smart phones, make sure that the chargers are also there, otherwise your phone would be of no use after a certain point of time.
Eliminating perishable food
You would definitely not like to have sour milk with your coffee once you return. So throw away any leftover milk. Also, make sure to clean pet boxes and throw away the garbage.
Check the wallet carefully
Before leaving home, check to make sure that you have all the required items in your wallet, including debit and credit cards. I would also advise you to take a small note bearing your emergency contact info, your insurance cards as well as the right currency for your travel destination.
Caring for the pets
Your furry friends also need some packing if they need to be transported elsewhere while you are not there. Or if you plan to leave them at home, make sure that they are let loose and have ample quantity of food. Moreover, appoint a pet sitter and do not forget to pass along alarm codes and keys before leaving.
