Plan? What Plan? Oh. The Plan X. THAT Plan.

I’d like to know this: Trader Joe’s Cookie Butter, where have you been all my life? If you were a real man, I’d have fallen head over heels in love with you. I would be that creepy neighbor who would walk past your street just to see if you’re home. Home safe and sound. (Sidenote: I love that word – Speculoos. It sounds something straight out of a Harry Potter novel. Raise your wand, aim and then yell your lungs out and say “Speculoos!” What it does I do not know but if it means multiplying Cookie Butter in one go, I’m all for that spell.)

After weeks of some issues with this website, Snow, Glass, Apple is finally back. And what? WordPress is about to release 3.6 and oh hello, Post Revisions feature. Hello! I read a snippet about you and I can tell I’ll like you. The new default theme, which is called Twenty Thirteen, is looking bold and loud and bright. Not sure if it’s for everybody but I like it.

A random yet friendly tip: When you and your friends find yourselves in a remote cabin or shack in the woods (or any secluded area, for that matter), do yourself and everyone else a favor: Don’t open any book you see lying around there. You may not believe in the supernatural but hey. I have watched Evil Dead and it seems the supernatural sure believes in us.

June is nearing and I have a team event to attend to this weekend. Hooray for the beach! I honestly, fervently hope it doesn’t rain. I know I have been sick on and off and then on yet again for the past couple of days and I really shouldn’t push myself (There’s going to be a sack race and God help me that I don’t pass out in the middle of all that hopping.) but I’m really looking forward to this team event. I want to bond with my grrls! We have a lot of catching up to do and being by the beach while exchanging stories and laughing and joking sounds like a great plan.

Speaking of June… I am working on my blog’s new layout. Nothing too great in terms of changes but I’m pretty excited about it. I love learning new things when it comes to coding. The geek in me is falling in love all over again.

I swear this thread was meant to be funny. It started out as funny and then it got creepy and scary.

And lastly, I am really into this song at the moment:

Beware the Lady in White… | photo from diloz

I love the quirky, the scary and it shows. I talk about ghost stories. I write fiction in sporadic bursts, stories laced with the supernatural. I blog about anything horror over there at Horror Spot. But then… BUT THEN… Last night, this:

My uncle decided to drop by the house and I was already on my way out when I saw him talking to my aunt. He was saying, “I nearly had an accident. I was driving on my way here when a woman in white came out of nowhere and started crossing the street.”

Here are the two details behind his statement:

  1. This happened near our street.
  2. I was about to get inside our car to go somewhere.

In my mind’s eye, I could easily visualize the white lady crossing our wide street. Needless to say, I let out a long-playing scream as I headed for our car. I did not have to hear that ghost story.

On my way to work every day, I cross the empty lot across our house. The lot is huge with grass growing taller and taller each day. There’s a path there that’s cleared for walking but it’s also littered with stones and dirt and junk (ex. candy wrappers, plastic bottles and even a shoe — I kid you not). In daylight, it’s a short walk. At 5 AM, it’s a different story. Especially earlier today, thanks to my uncle’s firsthand white lady ghost story.

As my feet crunched the stones beneath me and my cell phone’s built-in flashlight helped me to not trip, I found myself nervously looking around. I braced myself for the inevitable: I have walked this path so many times. Sooner or later, I will see a ghost or the kapre which was supposedly residing in the tree at the end of this path.

I breathed a sigh of relief as I reached the end of the path (which took me no more than two minutes, really — although at times like this, it felt longer than that). While a ghostly or supernatural encounter makes for a great story, it’s not a pleasant experience. Have you ever had supernatural experiences? Or do you even believe them at all?

Christmas Wish(ful Thinking) List

This entry was posted on Sunday, December 23rd, 2012.

You know how every Christmas most people here in planet Earth actually take the time to jot down (or input it in their tablets or mobile phones — modern times!) their Christmas wishlist? I don’t do that. Not really. But feeling obliged by the season, I have decided to take the time to hunt around for things that I know I will never own for various reasons.

Why put books and notebooks (my usual) when I can aim higher? It’s just a list and Santa isn’t real and my friends and family won’t humor me by buying such whims. :mustache:

Snowglobe_Ring

Let’s start with something totally unnecessary but too beautiful and wonderful to ignore. THIS.

Second in line: Just because it’s a necessity doesn’t mean it has to be plain!

shorts_high-waisted

Next one: Shorts. Long enough to hide my thunder thighs. Score! *pumps fist in air*

And then… Something so feminine my friends & family will wonder what the heck I’m up to this time.

Cat Red Glasses Shirt

And cats are cute. Enough said.

TOMS_ballet_flats

I love flats. Never mind that I’m a short person who needs to wear heels for people to take note of my space when walking.

Repurposed_Bottle_Hanging_Lamp

Okay. This one is neither practical nor necessary but… Look! LOOK!

And the last couple of items I picked because of my love for The Shining, one of my favorite horror books (turned into a movie).

The_Shining_coasters

Set of 4 coasters of “The Shining”. I would use this day in and day out.

Snow globe! Scary one but hey. I love the scary stuff.

Quote magnet from "The Shining". All I have to do is look at that and bam! Inspiration for a story.

"The Shining" poster I will hang in my room as my headboard. Should I ever get one.
